House Fire 778 Langley Rd.
The call came in around 2:30a.m. Fire fighter Vanalstine passed the scene enroute to the firehouse and found the house fully engulfed and right away started calling for mutuial aid on her portable radio. Upon the arrival of Engine 3 there was heavy fire throughout the entire top floor of the 3 story house.
Water was a problem on this very fridged night. We had to truck water in from the nearest fire hydrant 3 miles away. Many tankers were called to assist in this opperation.
Everyone in the house escaped without injury except one person with some minor burns on her hands. No firefigthers were injured fighting the blaze. Approximately 9 fire departments were called to extinguish the raging fire. The fire was under control about one hour after the first engine arrived on scene. F.V.F.D. cleared the scene shortly after 8:00a.m.
